Another Child?

October 26, 2016by Sanibel12 Comments on Another Child?

I didn't know this was a thing but when you your child turns 1, they are no longer a baby and the tides will turn.  Suddenly, just like the day you were married, your friends and family will take a new interest in your sex life and what might result from that...besides an orgasm. It goes something [...]

Family Dynamics

October 12, 2016by Sanibel6 Comments on Family Dynamics

It is amazing how having a baby changes a family's dynamic.  Suddenly some family becomes closer to you and your new or growing family.  Sometimes it pushes some family further away.  And then there are other times it just brings out the true colors in the rest.  While we are busy preparing for Cora's first [...]

9 Weeks Pregnant

March 18, 2015by Sanibel7 Comments on 9 Weeks Pregnant

Last night my Husband and I laid in bed, talking about the fireplace being delivered this week and how we need to bump out the basement bar.  In the middle of the conversation he blurted out how he is getting really nervous for Friday's ultrasound.  This is how our life is, we are going about [...]

The Calm After the Storm

January 12, 2015January 12, 2015by Sanibel3 Comments on The Calm After the Storm

It seems every January brings this calm into our household.  We hole ourselves up to hibernate, having grown tired of being social over the Holiday's.  We find ourselves with little to no plans on the weekends and just the chance to be by alone.  Which honestly, this is the first time we have fully had [...]

Telling Rebecca

August 25, 2014by Sanibel7 Comments on Telling Rebecca

My kid is no dummy.  There have been a few times that she has looked at me sideways.  She has questioned why I haven't had wine repeatedly.  She tried to catch us and ask if she would have a sibling by the time she is 13.  (Her bday is May, baby will be here April.)  [...]

The Day We Brought Her Home

October 22, 2013by Sanibel5 Comments on The Day We Brought Her Home

It has been in the plans.  An idea to look into once we were in the house.  We talked a bit more here and there about it and the next thing I know it was a warm Friday afternoon in October and there was a stranger in my back seat.  She had four furry legs [...]

This is Me

Sanibel

I'm Sanibel and I'm your cruise director for this blog. I'm also a wife and a mom but those aren't my only jobs. I have a tendency to drink the wine and then write, which leads to more than you care to read about. I have a daily need for Yoga and Kenny Chesney, in no particular order. If you can find me a beach then life is good but I don't have a lot of sand for my toes in these cornfields. Welcome to the ride.
