Our Infertility Journey

The Husband and I decided that once we were married we should pull the goalie and see about having a baby.  (The current child I have is not via my own pregnancy.)  That was October 2012.  We made the decision to just sit back and see where our romps in the sheets took us and if that would possibly result in a positive pregnancy test.  We quickly learned that would simply not be the case for us.  I finally had to throw in the towel and go see my doctor.  Here is our timeline.

October 2012: Started TTC naturally.

March 2013: We had our first appointment with my OB/GYN that I have been seeing for the past eight years.  She ran the basic tests and my Husband went and got his swimmers checked.

April 2014: After the basic tests revealed nothing but the fact that my Husband had amazing swimmers and plenty of them, I moved on to have an HSG test.  This gave us results that showed what we were up against.

May 2014: From there we started on fertility drugs.

July 2014: After 22 months of negative pregnancy tests, we had a positive test on July 23,2014 and were over the moon excited.  With each passing week, our fear of anything bad happening to this child ebbed away and excitement took over.

September 2014: Unfortunately, when I was just a day shy of 12 weeks pregnant, (Sept 18, 2013) we went in for an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat.  Our butterfly baby’s heart stopped at 10 weeks.  Four days after this finding I had a D&C.  From here we decided to take a break, go on vacation and wait until it felt right to start again.

February 27, 2015: We found out we are pregnant with our second baby and if all goes well, due October 20, 2015.

April 7, 2015: We have hit the magic 12 week mark and are officially excited! We now feel like we can celebrate this pregnancy!

October 20, 2015 We welcome our little girl into this world.

Hi, I wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage last year. I suffered through one at the same time and also had to have a d&c done, I haven’t been brave enough to write about it yet on my blog. I look forward to following you through the rest of your pregnancy.
May you have a wonderful day =)
